There are many places in which to explore the flora and fauna of Leicestershire.  The locations on the left vary from the well-known Bradgate Park, which is very popular in summer, to Martinshaw Wood, lesser known but none the less interesting.

To get to Martinshaw Wood from Leicester, take the A47 heading south-west towards Hinckley.  After about 3 miles, turn right at the traffic lights, signposted Kirby Muxloe, onto Ratby Lane.  At the roundabout, after 2 miles, go straight over towards Ratby.  After another 2 miles, turn left at the mini roundabout towards Markfield.  Martinshaw Wood is just over half a mile on the right.   There is a small car park there.
